We are looking to expand our Built and Natural Environment Team - a multi disciplinary team of technical officers comprises Urban Designers, Heritage Specialists, Ecologists, Landscape Designers, Aboriculturist within the Greater Cambridge Planning Service, a shared planning service between Cambridge City Council and South Cambridgeshire District Council.
It’s an exciting time for an experienced practitioner to work in a high profile growth location, with a proud reputation for the quality of new development that it delivers. The post holder will play an important role in one of the UK’s fastest growing economies in the Country.
Planning for green infrastructure is a priority for us. Work will focus on the more strategic sites including two new towns at Northstowe and Waterbeach and supporting the work of The Greater Cambridge (Joint) Local Plan starts this calendar year.
The service is currently implementing phase 2 of our shared service which will fully integrate the final parts of the two authorities planning teams with a significant ICT upgrade underway.
